So far so good - my teacher enhances what the book shows us and lets us show some of our creativity. You have to play with the tools to really know what you can do. Don't be afraid to experiment.

I am very pleased with the Adobe InDesign Classroom in a Book. Until I used this book (and the Illustrator Classroom in a Book), learning Adobe CS4 seemed overwhelming and I was afraid it would take me forever to figure it out on my own. Now, I look forward to each new lesson. Classroom in a Book breaks learning InDesign into small, easy-to-digest, bites and the lessons are fun, interesting, and instantly inspire me to apply the techniques to my own work. I think this inspiration factor is why I like this series so much better than the other tutorial books I've purchased. Perhaps it has something to do with the kind of work I do, which involves technical report writing. By the way, I haven't found anything wrong with this book, contrary to what some of the other reviewers have said--I'm glad I didn't listen to them.

There is nothing wrong with the book and it is a good way to learn indesign. However, I had to buy another one from another store. Mine was never delivered from Amanda Suprian! (used books) She said she was having trouble with the mail... and didn't answer me when I demanded a refund.

I've always found the "classroom in a book" series to be really well written and logically laid out. This Adobe Indesign CS4 version is easy to read, has an excellent index and really fills the gap that is Adobe's online help. It is an invaluable tool when learning the program and an essential "go to" when you are more experienced. Excellent!
